How time flies. In the blink of an eye, BEST Fund Summer Camp is on its nineth round. So far, 59 outstanding primary school students accompanied by 12 of their teachers from underprivileged mountainous areas had the opportunity come to Shanghai Giraffe English Training Center for a one-month summer camp.

The one month summer camp allows children to see beyond the underprivileged mountainous areas where they live and discover the vast and colorful world with infinite hope for a bright future. This annual event could not have been achived without the continuous support from all the team and volunteers behind the BEST Fund with love, efforts motivation, passion and dedication to design a summer camp curriculum, the weekend activities, to liaise with local primary schools and educational institutions, to book door-to-door transportation, to provide food and accommodation for teachers and students in Shanghai.

On July 30, 2017, the ninth BEST Fund Summer Camp will start as scheduled. Please come with us, cheer for the children of the mountains and their dreams.

Q: What is the BEST Fund?

A: The BEST Fund started in June 2009. Tewa Srilaklang (chairwoman of the Beijing Liang Dian Design Center), Tang Zhi (chairman of Shanghai Giraffe English Training Center), and Dominique Phommahaxay, general manager of LDPi Lighting Design Partnership International (China Branch) teamed up with primary schools in Liuba County, Shaanxi Province to annually select outstanding students in financially challenged rural area and send them to the Giraffe English Training Center in Xuhui District, Shanghai for a unique 1-month summer camp. This self-organized public welfare education project has also received great attention and support from the Liuba County Education and Sports Bureau.
