Since 2009, the BEST Fund, co-sponsored by LDPi Lighting Design Partnership International, LDDC Liang Dian Design Center and Shanghai Giraffe English Training Center, is escorting dreams and lighting up hopes for children in mountainous areas who are eager for knowledge.
On July 30th, 2017, eight excellent students Fu Mengjiao, Hua Lei, Sun Hui, Wu Sixuan, Wu Yueyang, Zhang Ting，Zhang Zhihao and Zhao Yushu from Madao primary school Liuba county, Shaanxi province arrived in Shanghai. After a short rest, they attended a warm welcome party prepared by the teachers of Giraffe English Training Center and introduced themselves one by one. Finally, the children were taken to visit the school's individual themed classrooms with childlike playrooms and public areas. The children were all looking forward to the learning life.
The next day, the ninth BEST Fund Summer Camp opened as scheduled. The official opening ceremony and welcome party with the theme of Aesthetic Exploration Character Camp opened. The Liuba students and other children who participated in this summer camp let their hopes fly and started an entertaining English learning journey.
At the opening ceremony, Chinese and foreign teachers from the Giraffe English Training Center dressed up and explained the major themes of the summer camp to the children with vivid language and easy-to-remember stories, and introduced themselves class by class. Children were quickly infected by the relaxed and cheerful atmosphere and merged into a warm and happy family.
In the following month, eight students of Madao primary school in Liuba county, Shaanxi province will start to learn 4 different topics each week. The teachers of Giraffe English Training Center will bring them a refreshing learning experience. We believe this will be an unforgettable opportunity for them and will also benefit them greatly in English learning. A: The BEST Fund started in June 2009. Tewa Srilaklang (chairwoman of the Beijing Liang Dian Design Center), Tang Zhi (chairman of Shanghai Giraffe English Training Center), and Dominique Phommahaxay, general manager of LDPi Lighting Design Partnership International (China Branch) teamed up with primary schools in Liuba County, Shaanxi Province to annually select outstanding students in financially challenged rural area and send them to the Giraffe English Training Center in Xuhui District, Shanghai for a unique 1-month summer camp. This self-organized public welfare education project has also received great attention and support from the Liuba County Education and Sports Bureau.
