Beijing Citic Bookstore (Qihao Mansion), located on the bank of Liangma River, is part of a typical urban center surrounded by high-end offices, luxury hotels, embassy district and residential areas. The bookstore, with an indoor height of 4.2 meters and a gross floor area of 650 m2, has a façade made of curved glass curtain wall facing South which provides good daylight conditions for the interior space. Daylight harvesting is achieved by using sensors installed by the glass curtain wall to dim the nearby DALI track lights when necessary and while other areas have their own illumination based on their function. In this irregular interior curved space, the lighting is intentionally regular and rhythmic to provide a clear and comfortable environment for customers.
